Seasonal Changes and Adaptations

How Do Seasons Change?

The year is divided into four seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter. Each season has different weather, daylight, and temperatures.

How Plants and Animals Adapt

  • Animals: Some animals grow thicker fur in winter or hibernate to stay warm. Birds may fly to warmer places (migrate).
  • Plants: Some plants grow in spring and summer and lose their leaves in fall. Others stay green all year!

Why Do We Need to Adapt?

Adapting to seasonal changes helps living things survive. People wear coats in winter and shorts in summer to stay comfortable!
