TACHS Math

Comprehensive study of tachs math covering fundamental concepts and advanced applications.

Basic Concepts

Fractions, Decimals, and Percents

Fractions, Decimals, and Percents

These are three ways to show parts of a whole. They're everywhere, from pizza slices (fractions) to grades (percents).

Converting Between Forms

  • Fraction to Decimal: Divide the top number by the bottom (e.g. \( \frac{3}{4} = 0.75 \)).
  • Decimal to Percent: Move the decimal two places right and add % (\( 0.75 = 75% \)).
  • Percent to Fraction: Write the percent over 100 and reduce (\( 75% = \frac{75}{100} = \frac{3}{4} \)).

Comparing and Ordering

To compare, convert all numbers to decimals or percents and see which is bigger.

Everyday Uses

  • Understanding discounts while shopping.
  • Figuring out test scores.

Practice makes perfect—try changing forms until it feels natural!

Examples

  • Changing 0.4 to \( 40% \).

  • Converting \( \frac{2}{5} \) to 0.4.

In a Nutshell

Fractions, decimals, and percents are three ways to represent parts of a whole.
