Time Management During the Test

Keeping Track of Time

Reading tests can feel rushed, but with smart planning, you’ll finish with confidence.

  • Scan the questions before reading: Know what to look for.
  • Don’t get stuck: If a question is tough, skip it and come back later.
  • Check the clock: Make sure you have time for all passages.

With practice, you’ll know how long to spend on each part!

Examples

  • If you have 40 minutes for 40 questions, aim for about a minute per question.

  • Mark hard questions and return to them if you have time left.
