Managing Time During the Test

Using Your Time Wisely

On the SSAT, you don’t have to solve every question right away. Use time-management strategies to do your best!

  • Answer easy questions first—skip tricky ones and come back later.
  • Keep an eye on the clock and don’t spend too long on one problem.
  • If you finish early, use extra time to check your work.

Examples

  • Finish all the questions you know first, then return to any you skipped.

  • If you’re stuck, move on and come back so you don’t run out of time.
