Why Read for Information?

Sometimes you read to learn new facts, like about animals, space, or history! This is called reading informational text.

How Can You Do It Well?

  • Look for the main idea and important facts.
  • Use text features to help you understand.
  • Ask questions and look for answers as you read.

Real-World Example

When you want to know how tall Mount Everest is or what whales eat, you read to find those facts!
