ISEE Primary 3 Reading focuses on developing reading comprehension and critical thinking skills for young learners.
Sometimes, you find words you don’t know while reading. You can often figure out what these words mean by looking at the sentences around them. This is called using context clues.
Context clues help you understand the story without stopping to look up every new word.
The puppy was famished. He ate his food quickly. (Famished probably means very hungry.)
She was elated, or very happy, to see her friends.
Context clues help you guess the meaning of new words in a text.
