SSAT Middle Level Math covers essential mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills necessary for success on the SSAT exam.
Ratios, proportions, and percents help you compare numbers and understand how values are related.
A ratio shows the relationship between two numbers. If there are 2 cats for every 3 dogs, the ratio is 2:3.
A proportion says two ratios are equal, like \( \frac{2}{3} = \frac{4}{6} \).
Percents are a way of expressing a number out of 100. For example, 50% means 50 out of 100.
These tools are super useful for things like comparing prices, calculating discounts, or even mixing a recipe!
To change a percent to a decimal, just divide by 100!
If you score 18 out of 20 on a quiz, your percent correct is \( \frac{18}{20} \times 100 = 90% \)
Mixing 2 cups of juice with 3 cups of water creates a ratio of 2:3
Ratios, proportions, and percents let you compare and relate quantities.
