Mastering the Clock

The HSPT Reading section is timed, so you need to keep an eye on both your pace and your accuracy. Don’t spend too long on a single question—move on and come back if you have time. Skim the passages quickly first, then read more closely as you answer questions. Use your watch or the classroom clock to keep yourself on track!

Tips

• Allocate about one minute per question
• Answer easier questions first, mark harder ones to revisit
• Don’t leave any answers blank—guess if you’re out of time!
