Statistics help us understand data. Three important tools are mean (average), median (middle value), and mode (most common value).

How to Calculate

  • Mean: Add all the numbers and divide by how many there are.
  • Median: Line up the numbers from smallest to largest; the middle one is the median.
  • Mode: The number that shows up most often.
