The Scientific Method

How Do Scientists Find Answers?

Scientists use a special process to answer questions and solve mysteries. This is called the scientific method.

The Steps

  1. Ask a Question: What do you want to know?
  2. Do Research: Find out what is already known.
  3. Make a Hypothesis: Predict what you think will happen.
  4. Experiment: Test your idea with a fair experiment.
  5. Observe and Record: Watch what happens and write it down.
  6. Analyze Results: Figure out what your data means.
  7. Share What You Learned: Tell others about your findings.

The scientific method helps us solve problems, make good choices, and learn new things.

You can use these steps to answer any science question, like "Which type of soil helps plants grow best?"
