Study Strategies

Use Process of Elimination

Make Smart Choices

If you don’t know the answer right away, cross out the choices that you know are wrong. This gives you a better chance of picking the correct answer from the ones that are left.

How It Works

Sometimes, even if you aren’t sure, you can solve the question by getting rid of answers that don’t make sense or don’t match the passage.

Examples

  • Eliminating two answer choices that don’t fit the story, leaving you with only two to choose from.

  • Crossing out answers that have details not found in the passage.
