Getting to Know Your Motorcycle

Understanding your bike’s controls is the first step toward safe riding.

Main Controls

  • Throttle: Located on the right handlebar, twist it to go faster.
  • Front Brake: Also on the right handlebar, squeeze to slow or stop.
  • Clutch: On the left handlebar, pull it in to shift gears.
  • Gear Shifter: Near your left foot, tap up or down to change gears.
  • Rear Brake: Near your right foot, press down to activate.
  • Turn Signals, Horn, Lights: Usually within thumb’s reach.

Mastering these controls through practice in a safe area is key before riding in traffic.
