What Are Analogies?

Analogies compare two pairs of words to show a relationship between them. On the ISEE, you’ll select the answer that shows the same relationship as the pair given in the question. This tests your reasoning and vocabulary.

Common Analogy Types

• Cause and effect (rain : flood)
• Synonym/antonym (happy : joyful or hot : cold)
