Common Core: Kindergarten Math introduces young learners to foundational math concepts through engaging activities and interactive lessons.
Addition means putting things together to make a bigger group. Subtraction means taking some away to make a smaller group.
You can use your fingers, blocks, or snacks to see how adding or taking away changes the total.
Addition can look like \( 2 + 3 = 5 \). Subtraction can look like \( 5 - 2 = 3 \).
Addition and subtraction help you figure out how many toys you have if you get more, or how many cookies are left after sharing.
\[a + b = c\]
You have 2 candies and get 3 more. Now you have 5 candies.
You have 6 apples and eat 2. Now you have 4 apples.
Addition puts groups together; subtraction takes some away.
