Opinion and persuasive writing is about expressing what you think and giving reasons to support your ideas. In 4th grade, you’ll write essays or letters where you state your opinion and try to persuade readers to agree with you.

Steps to Write Persuasively

  • Start with a clear opinion statement.
  • Give reasons and examples to back up your opinion.
  • End with a strong conclusion or call to action.

Use linking words like "because," "for example," or "therefore" to connect your ideas!
